Something Was Said:
A Group Exhibition by Ralph Aldous, Dave Irish, and Mike Morris
19th July – 26th July 2025
Opening night: Friday 18th July, 6-10pm

Surface is pleased to announce Something Was Said: A Group Exhibition by Ralph Aldous, Dave Irish, and Mike Morris.

Three committed painters present a selection of their recent work. Each artist employs various subject matter, ranging from internal landscape to Welsh themes. What is also important is the pleasure each artist gains from the application of paint, colour, and the variation of what it can represent in the modern world. Sadly, painting in recent years has been perceived as antiquated, outdated in our technological society. However, with the three artists on show, faith and expression in the potential of painting are celebrated. They endeavour to represent a resurgence in the joy of the activity, for cleverness has been banished, in favour of direct communication. Take time out and you might be surprised at what you find on show.
