A selection of projects made over the last year will be on display, including work from his latest series: Ruptures. The industrial landscape provides the stage on which Tom crafts, installs and excavates to create ephemeral objects and environments that exist solely for the camera. Each scene is constructed life size, presenting disconcerting scenarios that lie in the cusp between reality and fiction.

Photoshoot Space Hire

Before Surface Gallery moved into the venue Southwell Road, photographer John Issac used this four-story building as professional photographic studios for over 40 years.  We are proud to preserve this photography heritage by offering creative individuals the chance to hire our top floor.  The space is ideal for photo shoots, boasting brilliant natural light through huge skylights in the ceiling, and five large sash windows. The floor is part of Surface Gallery’s fantastic arts complex and artists studios set to be renovated in late 2009.
