A Multitude of Sins: Studio Artist Show
13th – 27th April 2019
Opening night: Friday 12th April 18:00 – 21:00
Ashley Alldread / Gerry Henegan Barr / Lena Eriksson Goodison / Georgia Fry / Paul Henegan / Melvin James / Peter Lumley / Olivia Wileman
Surface Gallery is pleased to announce the return of our annual studio artist show: A Multitude of Sins.
A Multitude of Sins captures the mood and diversity of the annual group show of old and new Surface studio artists. Figurative painters Lumley and James demonstrate a preoccupation with religious iconography, suffering and death, while the instinctive approaches taken by Wileman and Eriksson Goodison allude, respectively, to landscape and portraiture. Henegan Barr and Fry employ 3D mixed media to explore the theme through poetry and play. Similarly, Henegan divines meaning and messages through the combination of printmaking techniques, while multimedia artist Alldread’s subjects feature, amongst other things: ritual, fetish, and other-worldly scenarios.
