The Treachery of Images, Objects and Words- A Workshop Experience
The third workshop session will be hosted by Alison McCulloch and Billy Hawes on the 22nd of August:
Taking inspiration from Surrealism and Rene Magritte, immerse yourself in this interesting workshop where we will allow our minds and imagination to drift and to run wild. How we perceive the world, what we can see in an image, object or word will be explored as well as the links, associations and narratives that can potentially develop from this.
The aim of this workshop is to have fun exploring the juxtaposition of image, object and word and to create visual work that can be later bound into an interesting form in the subsequent workshop during the afternoon.
During the second half of the workshop we will explore different methods of book making, and different possibilities of what a ‘book’ can actually be, and use any imagery, text and even objects made during the workshop to create a handmade book.
Materials will be provided but you can bring your own images, objects or text along to the workshop if you wish.
The workshop is on Saturday 22nd August at 12 midday. All are welcome and no previous experience or skills are necessary.
Last workshop for the EM15
The last workshop session will be hosted by Craig Parr and Mike Tharian on the 29th of August. More information to come.
