2014 Exhibition Submission

Surface Gallery welcomes exhibition proposals for 2014. We accept applications from groups and curators as well as individuals. These will be considered and selected based on the content of the proposed show not the profile of the artist(s) involved.

Surface Gallery offers a very varied and diverse exhibition programme, selected largely through proposals submitted to the gallery. We also curate a number of annual open shows throughout the year, details of which will be available on this page during the exhibition’s call for submissions period. This offers individuals the opportunity to exhibit in an exhibition curated by Surface Gallery

The exhibition programme aims to support emerging artists by offering them a high quality space for hire in which to exhibit work and encourage artists to be ambitious and adventurous in their practice

If you would like to submit a proposal for a show please download an application pack below. This contains details of what to include in your application, what Surface Gallery can provide, a gallery floor plan and relevant cost information. Alternatively please email us if you have any further questions.

With and Without

April 25th - May 9th 2013

Surface Gallery presents a show by Lisa Selby, the winner of the 2012 International Open Show.

The awareness of inevitable loss is central to Lisa Selby’s material and sculptural approach.  With and Without seeks to grasp and eternalize what cannot be held firm: Selby re-articulates items from the domestic environment, relaying the familiarity and alienation experienced as one moves physically and psychologically from one home to another.>
