PHOTORADAR festival takes place in locations all across the fine city of Nottingham and it runs from the 1st until the 12th of June, 2009
This year is lining up to be one of the most exciting yet and the breadth and beauty of the work on display in PHOTORADAR means that this June is the perfect opportunity to experience some amazingly fresh creative talent.
This exhibition ‘5 DEGREES’ promises to bring a new and exciting insight into emerging contemporary photographers who approach their subject matter with a fresh and innovative perspective of the visual message. The show seeks to explore a range of photographic genres, each expressing the personal interest and practice of the artist. Consolidating three years of study at Nottingham Trent University, the work reflects a range of interests - from the real and the illusory, to contemporary portraits, identity and self.
‘This exhibition actively fuels and intensifies the passion and diversity existing within a contemporary photographers practice today; whilst demonstrating an intricate process of development, the artists are able to forge individual identities which are outspoken and evident in the work on display.
From the exploration of Eroticism in fairytales to the observation of the objective self, present-day cultural/political concerns merge with surrealist ideals to provide deeply conceptual yet incredibly striking imagery for the viewer to digest.’
