Fifth Wall: 19th NTU Photo Festival

Surface Gallery is delighted to host the degree show of a group of eight final year BA (Hons) Photography students: Anna Dziczkaniece, Ellen Lawes, Emma Smith, Farrah Watts, Jessica Frank, Katie McLean, Lauren Mustoe and Nikki Brown.

A culmination of three years of study, the exhibition will feature a diverse range of genres, from Fashion to Fine Art. The variety of themes include a modernised concept of Victorian Death Photography, and an exploration of the Femme-Fatale character within Film Noir. All the themes reflect each photographer’s unique outlook and approach that are further developed through a variety of photography processes and media. This is your opportunity to see the development of photographic processes and the creative industry.

The Photo Festival is located at venues across Nottingham. It is a celebration of hard work and creativity, and brings together the knowledge and experience the photographers have gained throughout their time at university. The exhibition gives an insight into their future, and indicates where their individual talents are most prominent.

A Private view will be held on the evening of Wednesday 3rd June and will be accompanied by the talented Jazz Guitarist: Keith Pell, who was selected by the artists. Everyone is welcome to attend the Private View and there will be our usual donations bar with ales provided by local brewer, Springhead. The exhibition will run in conjunction with Biological and Photographic Imagery Exhibition, which will take place in our Project Space.

Entry to the gallery is free and all visitors are very welcome.
