Surface Gallery is excited to present MA/P, an exhibition by fourteen photographers from Nottingham Trent University’s MA Photography and Commercial Photography courses.
MA/P represents the work of photographers from across the globe. The exhibition spans photographic disciplines, and questions the distinctions between commercial and fine art photography. From fashion and product photography to fine art, MA/P celebrates the passions and practices of this eclectic group of exhibitors. Xu Cheng's love of British homes and architecture reveals itself in the silver gelatin prints of Nottingham street scenes, while Kate Tyack's journey of personal discovery takes her back to her family home after an absence of 20 years to explore repressed emotions, and Callum Baigrie's self-portraits in women's clothing challenges traditional gender roles through fashion portraiture. Experience MA/P and the diverse origins and influences of the artists represented in this intriguing exhibition.
MA/P will open in the Project Space in conjunction with Traced in the Main Gallery. The Private View will take place on Saturday 29th July, 5-7pm. Complimentary drinks will be available while supplies last. As always there will be a donations bar with ales from local brewery, Springhead.
